MM at a Glance

I just wanted to report we had a great night at the annual community event held last evening at the Almonte Arena. I’m not sure the crowd was as large as prior years but it seems we are attracting a larger segment of the crowd with each passing year. We were able to display our new Club banner and we also had a small seating area for spectators. That combined with our prime location and excellent cast of athletes lent very well to our display.I would like to thank all club members and their families who were able to drop by …. and there were many of you! Most of all I would like to thank the participants; Ben Church, Devon Georgeadis, JerryJeff Haining, Sebastian Kadoke-Scantlebury, Finn O’Brien, Pippa O’Brien, Melody Patten, and Sarah Reside. All belt colours and age groups, male and female were represented – it was a perfect blend. ‘Mass appeal’ is a significant aspect of our sport/martial art, and certainly one element we attempt to convey at these demonstrations.

None of this would have been possible without the assistance of JerryJeff, Sarah and my wife Val who helped transport mats at the start of the evening, and again at the conclusion of the demonstration – kudos to you all. JerryJeff also assisted with administration and ‘Club Promotion’ at the desk and this was very much appreciated!
