Sunday Judo (new session, Jan 23- Mar 21, 2010)

jse_dsc00299

For those not familiar with ‘Sunday Judo’, the program was initiated in November 2004 after a number of keen club members expressed interest in supplemental training. The program has been going strong ever since, with on average 2-3 sessions per year, summers included! I am willing to keep this program alive provided the interest level remains high – and that seems to be the case at this time. In order to make the sessions effective, there must be a minimum of 10 students (and ideally many more!!) at every session. Participants must be ‘Judo Ontario’ registered club members from any judo club.

The program is designed to recover the cost of our rental at the ‘Tae Kwon Do’ location, 10 Houston Drive in Almonte. (in the mall opposite Equators Coffee – near Independent Grocers.) I have negotiated a total rental cost for the 8 week session of $480, to be split evenly amongst all those participating. Simply put, if we have 12 members interested, the individual cost is $40. If we are so fortunate as to have 16 members, the cost drops to $30 per individual. Stretching it to 20 members – the cost is further lowered to $24. The latter translates to $1.50/hr of training – it doesn’t get much better ! So, it is in everyones best interest to spread the good word and maximize participation! I should know the confirmed participation level in the next 7-10 days at which time I will communicate the individual cost. (max. family cost will be 2X the individual cost) All fees are payable to myself (Gord MacDonald) in cash or by cheque.

Sunday Session dates are yet to be fully confirmed – I have a number of out-of-town judo engagements which are being finalized. I do know the dates will be either as described in ‘A’ below, or as in ‘B’.
