Club members assemble for Olympic Torch Relay
Well, that was quite an event! Thanks to all who were able to come out and brave the elements on yet another poor weather day. I counted an amazing 28 judoka at our location alone, and I know of at least 7 or 8 others cheering on the torch from other spots along the route. Some members were fortunate to view the torch in both Carleton Place and Almonte! I would have to say Teigan and Sydney were among the luckiest of all, grasping the torch along with one of Canada’s most famous Olympians, Elizabeth Manley. Vancouver 2010 should take on a new meaning for all of us after the excitement of today – hang on to those souvenirs!!
