Ontario Winter Games results

The 2010 Ontario Winter Games were held March 4-7 in the Huntsville area of the Muskokas. Judo was one of 26 sports represented at the bi-annual Games. The ‘U17′  judo tournament was held Friday March 5 at Riverside Public School in Huntsville. Congratulations are extended to all Almonte athletes, and the entire East Region judo team!!  The team was coached by Tina Takahashi and assisted by her husband Sean MacFadyen. Karen Heney provided invaluable support as Manager and logistics coordinator. Our team accumulated a very respectable 7 medals;  2 Gold, 1 Silver, and 4 Bronze.  All three Almonte competitors fought with spirit and enjoyed a great overall Games experience. Pippa O’Brien and Dylan de Pater each earned Bronze medals in their respective categories. Congratulations to the largest Winter Games contingent ever from the Almonte Judo Club, consisting of Sarah Reside, Pippa O’Brien, and Dylan de Pater. Well done!!
