Judo Demonstration for Eastern Ontario 4-H

On Sunday July 10, 2011 nearly 50 members of Eastern Ontario 4-H gathered at the Almonte Fairgrounds for their annual P.L.A.Y. (Positive Life, Active You) event. The members enjoyed a great day of fun and learning, moving through an assortment of stations including food preparation, geo-caching, and judo. Sensei Gord MacDonald introduced the group to ‘the martial arts’ presenting a video, inviting discussion about the martial arts, and allowing volunteers to wear judo uniforms. They were later introduced to various elements of falling safely, judo movement and throwing techniques. A great time was had by all !!
